To our patients concerned about Coronavirus (COVID-19):
A few points of consideration while trying to navigate through the current widespread fear of COVID-19.
We live in an area that does not experience a high level of close contact human interaction. Texas is very widespread and we are quickly moving into higher temperatures that will likely prevent a spreading of this virus, making it a short lived concern for us.
The best action that you can take towards remaining healthy during this time, is to remain calm and realize the potential of contracting the virus is very low.
Prevention is key. You can effectively control the spread of this virus by the following recommendations:
Avoid close contact with people who are sick,
Wash your hands frequently,
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth,
Cough or sneeze into a tissue,
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces,
Avoid unnecessary travel,
Avoid unnecessary crowed events.
Lastly, stay home when you are sick.
Keep 6 feet ”social distance”, and coronavirus already changes our greeting habits, i.e., elbow bump instead of handshake, fist bump instead of high-five, et al.
Always it is good to have a good lifestyle, eating a healthy and balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, limiting sugar, boosting the immune system with herbs, vitamins, adequate rest, massage, stretching and exercises, relaxing and of course acupuncture and chiropractic care.
The CDC guidance have advised people over 60 and those with underlying health problems to strongly consider avoiding activities that involve large crowds.
